What is Ember Pilates?
Ember Pilates is a boutique fitness studio in downtown Sarasota, Florida, offering infrared Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates, Barre, Yoga, and Recovery classes.

What makes Ember Pilates different?
Ember Pilates Sarasota is an independently owned boutique studio that blends infrared-supported training, intelligent movement, and expert instruction to create results that last. Our approach is grounded in science and shaped by nationally recognized Pilates education—so every class is thoughtfully programmed with purpose and care.
Because of our independent, owner-led approach, we’re able to offer a variety of intentionally designed classes—including Pilates, barre, yoga, and recovery—within one cohesive membership. From smaller Reformer class sizes to boutique details like a private shower and a welcoming, community-focused environment, everything at Ember is designed to support how you move, recover, and feel—both inside and outside the studio.
What is infrared Pilates and yoga?
Infrared heat warms your body directly — not the air around you — creating a deep, therapeutic warmth that supports circulation, muscle recovery, flexibility, and stress relief. Our Ember classes use infrared panels to help you move deeper with less strain and greater benefit. You’ll feel refreshed, not overheated.
Do you offer Reformer Pilates?
Yes. Our Reformer Pilates studio features premium Balanced Body equipment for full-body strength, stability, and alignment training.
We offer a range of class formats — from dynamic sculpt and jump classes to restorative recovery flows like Reformer Restore.
See all Reformer classes on the Classes Page.
Do you offer Barre, Yoga, or Recovery classes?
Yes. In addition to Pilates, Ember Pilates Sarasota offers Barre, Yoga, and Recovery classes designed to balance strength and restoration:
- Barre builds lower-body strength, endurance, and tone using small, precise movements.
- Yoga enhances flexibility, mindfulness, and focus through intentional flow.
- Recovery classes — such as Recover + Restore — help release tension, improve mobility, and support active recovery through guided stretching and restorative movement.

What’s the difference between mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates?
Mat Pilates uses your own bodyweight, breath, and alignment to build strength and stability.
Reformer Pilates uses a moving carriage, springs, and pulleys to create resistance, support, and a deeper mind-body connection.
Both are incredible for core strength, posture, mobility, and longevity—you simply choose based on your goals and what you enjoy.
Are your classes heated?
We offer both heated and non-heated formats:
- Ember Mat Pilates and Ember Yoga — infrared-heated, maintained between 90–100°F
- Mat Pilates Sculpt — infrared-heated
- Recover & Restore — infrared-heated
- Mat Pilates and Yoga — non-heated, room temperature
- Mat Foundations — non-heated
- Core Ignite — non-heated
- Barre — non-heated
- Reformer Pilates — non-heated
Infrared classes create gentle warmth that promotes flexibility, detoxification, and recovery.
Is Ember Pilates beginner-friendly?
Yes. All classes are guided by experienced instructors who offer personalized modifications and progressions. If you’re new, we recommend starting with Mat Pilates Foundations or a Private Session to build confidence and form awareness.
What should I expect at my first class?

What are the benefits of Pilates, Barre, Yoga, infrared, and recovery classes?
Each Ember class offers unique benefits that work together to create balanced, sustainable fitness:
- Pilates builds core strength, posture, mobility, and joint stability, helping you move efficiently and feel strong in everyday life.
- Barre develops muscle endurance, balance, and lower-body tone through small, precise movements that build deep strength without bulk.
- Yoga enhances flexibility, mindfulness, and stress relief, restoring balance between body and mind.
- Infrared heat promotes circulation, detoxification, recovery, and relaxation, allowing you to move deeper while easing tension and inflammation.
- Recovery classes like Recover + Restore and Reformer Restore focus on stretching, mobility, and restorative movement, helping release tight muscles, reduce soreness, and calm the nervous system for faster recovery.
Together, these formats create a complete wellness experience that builds strength, improves flexibility, and supports long-term vitality.

What’s the difference between infrared heat and hot yoga heat?
Infrared heat warms your body directly rather than heating the air.
That means:
easier breathing
gentle, even warmth
deeper muscle activation
improved circulation and recovery
It’s a cleaner, more comfortable experience—perfect for Pilates, mobility work, and mindful strength training.
Is infrared Pilates safe for beginners or people with joint sensitivity?
Yes. Infrared heat is incredibly supportive for beginners and anyone dealing with stiffness or joint discomfort.
The warmth increases mobility, helps muscles activate more efficiently, and encourages your body to move with ease—not strain.
If you’re new, our instructors keep a close eye on you and help you modify as needed.
Where should I park when visiting the studio in downtown Sarasota?
Ember Pilates is located at 105 Links Ave in the heart of downtown Sarasota.
We’re surrounded by convenient parking options, and your confirmation email will include the best places to park based on time of day.
If it’s your first visit, arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in without rushing.
What should I wear to an infrared Pilates class?
Wear comfortable, breathable workout clothing that allows you to move freely.
Because our mat studio uses infrared heat, most clients prefer lightweight fabrics that wick moisture.
Grip socks are recommended for Reformer classes and optional—but welcome—on the mat.
